Building subsidence can be a traumatic
experience for any home owner as they watch what is often the largest
financial investment of their life crack around them. Trees can
be implicated in a minority of subsidence events but there are many
other possible causes to be considered before trees can be justifiably
blamed for the damage. Because of this, any subsidence event must
initially be investigated by a structural engineer who has the knowledge
and experience necessary to consider a far wider range of possible
causes than just trees.
However, if trees are implicated, Mark Carter can
carry out a preliminary investigation using the engineers report
and data gathered from site to identify those trees most likely
to be responsible and to make recommendations that will reduce their
influence on the subsidence event.
